The text reads "We're on a mission to get survivors hired!"One of our core missions at Hire Survivors Hollywood is to GET SURVIVORS HIRED – which is exactly the purpose of our Hire Survivors Hollywood Survivor Talent Database! We are thrilled with how successful we’ve been in securing employment opportunities for survivors. We’ve helped indie films, bigger budget productions, and even major industry publications to hire survivors, intimacy coordinators, and trauma specialists to work on their projects. Because of the community we have built over the years –  and the survivor focused mission of our work – we are well positioned to make recommendations to employers and decision makers in the entertainment industry.

In our efforts to get survivors hired, we are always looking to expand our database of talented survivors and trauma informed professionals. So, if you’re a self-identified survivor* of sexual violence (harassment, misconduct, assault, abuse, etc) who works in the entertainment industry and would like to be recommended for work in future, we would love to add you to our database of above and below the line talent!

The database we are compiling will be used to make recommendations to casting directors, productions, directors, production companies, networks, streamers, publications, filmmakers, etc that we have partnered with or are offering our consulting services to. All of these folks will have taken the Hire Survivors Hollywood pledge and are actively seeking to hire survivors on their projects while creating a safer and more equitable working environment.

When a potential employment opportunity arises, we contact survivors who are on our database to ask them if they would like to be submitted for such opportunities, with the potential to interview or audition for jobs in the entertainment industry.

DATABASE SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

If you are a self-identified survivor** and would like to be included in our database please email the following to: HireSurvivorsHollywood@gmail.com

  • Your best contact info
  • What roles or positions you’d like to be considered for
  • Links to your work/reels/portfolios/resumes/websites, etc.

We are asked to provide recommendations for hires at every point in production – from development to release – for above the line and below the line talent, including for trauma specialists, intimacy coordinators, and sometimes even staff at companies. So, please also indicate if you have any of the following:

  • Ability to provide trauma informed education
  • Are trained in trauma therapy (or complimentary skills such as somatic experiencing)
  • Can provide trauma trainings
  • If you hold any certifications in survivor centered trauma informed trainings/education.
  • Staff-level experience
  • Office experience
  • Development experience
  • Etc
NOTE TO EMPLOYERS:

If you’re an employer or decision maker in Hollywood, now is a great time to reach out to us for guidance on how to be inclusive of – and create opportunities for – survivors. **IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DATABASE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS, SAFETY, AND PRIVACY:
  • At no point will we require any self-identifying survivor to disclose the details or nature of their abuse, including (but not limited to) details about who abused them, when, or how. 
  • The only requirements to be included in the Hire Survivors Hollywood & Hire Survivors Broadway database are:
    • 1. that you are a self identified survivor of sexual violence (this sexual violence did not have to occur within the entertainment industry or at the hands of someone on the industry).
    • 2. That you do currently, have in the past, or would like to in the future, work within the entertainment industry.
  • The database is not searchable by any industry stakeholders or our partners. Hire Survivors staff are the only ones who see database entries unless, and until, Hire Survivors staff reaches out to database members and they actively consent to have their contact info and materials shared with our partners who are hiring. Survivor safety, privacy, and consent are of the utmost importance to us.
  • Your name, contact info, and/or materials will never be shared outside of the Hire Survivors organization except with your consent. As a member of our database, we will send you job openings in film, tv, streaming, theater, etc and you will let us know if we’d like to send your materials to the hiring team of that particular project.
